Carrollton High School Quarterback Julian “Juju” Lewis has officially announced his commitment to the University of Colorado On Thursday morning. Lewis’s decision comes just four days after de-committing from the University of Southern California.

The Five-star prospect made his commitment on the Pat McAfee show early this morning, putting on a beanie hat with the Colorado Buffaloes insignia placed on the front.

“Its definitely a blessing to be put in this position,” Lewis said, “To come in after [Shedeur Sanders] and with [Deion Sanders], I couldn’t beat it.”

Lewis then described some of his conversations with Colorado Buffaloes Head Coach Deion Sanders, and how they motivated his commitment decision.

“Coach Prime has always said the best man is going to play, and that’s really what I wanted, to be able to come in and compete, to start as a Freshman. I wouldn’t be have much fun sitting the bench, I want to come somewhere I get a chance to play. So they are going to let me compete for that, and that was big for me.”

Lewis is currently the number-two ranked player in ESPN’s 2025 recruiting class, as well as the second quarterback in the nation.

Interestingly so, his commitment comes nearly a month after visiting Colorado for their home game against Cincinnati. The Buffaloes won 34-23.

The Georgia native was originally part of the 2026 recruiting class, and was the number one overall player in that class. However, he made known of his decision to reclassify to the recruiting class 2025 back in January of this year.

The Colorado Buffaloes currently hold an 8-2 record on the season and are ranked second in the Big-12 Conference. The Buffaloes success has much to do with Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has thrown for 27 passing touchdowns along with four rushing touchdowns this year.

With Sanders likely leaving for the NFL draft in April, Lewis’s commitment gives Colorado a chance to have another impactful player at the Quarterback in the coming years.
